Bloody Beatrice

Statue of the Empress in Altdorf[1a]

Bloody Beatrice "the Monumentally Cruel" was an Empress during the Age of Wars.[1a]

She is renowned for her devotion to Sigmar as well as her relentless persecution of those that did not worship the god. In additon she imposed debilitating taxes upon rich and poor alike.[1a] During her reign, many folk in the Reikland became outlaws in order to escape Beatrice's religious persecution, most famous amongst them was "Reikwald Max", who was notable for giving gifts to those most burdened by Beatrice's taxes and for being a Mutant. Max avoided the authorities for four years but he was eventually captured and taken to Altdorf for torture and execution. His horned head graced a spike on Altdorf's east gate as a warning against mutation and banditry for many years.[2a]

Beatrice had also been a great tactician. One of the battles fought during her reign was the campaign against the Thirteen Rebel Electors.[3a]
