Hi Paraduo, at Slack we are talking about a collaboration proposal with Faeit212 / Natfka. They also have a Warhammer Fantasy section. I encourage you to enter, read and offer your opinion and your ideas ;)
I noticed the footer at the bottom of your main page is in Spanish, as well as several links. Is this intended? We've got a gaming footer program this site looks well qualified for; we can also swap out links for EN sites.
Woops. I have understood him and he is right. I made the main page of this wiki based on a wiki in Spanish and, although I paid attention to other details, I did not notice that I was dragging the spanish footer xD
Please, tell us about the gaming footer program. I will probably send a request shortly. At this time most readers of this wiki are interested in Warhammer: Total War, so it is timely.
You can find all the particulars about the program in the link ;) In a nutshell, though, the program exists to highlight communities that are active and friendly. Communities are placed in the genre footer they deem most appropriate for their site, and then the footer is placed on the bottom of the main page.
The only ways communities can be removed from the footer is if they become toxic towards users or become inactive (as defined in the link). :)
I plan to add informations about the various Norse Dwarf Holds using what small pieces of information i can get out of Dwarfs Stone and Steel, German lexicanum and all other Sources (not that there is much)
But should i treat them as completly destroyed, still standing (from the oldest sources), current status unknow (but most likely destroyed) or somehting else entirely ?
After taking a deeper look i have decided to make a great Norse Dorf rework and to plunder Lexicanum (for the nice pics).
I will reedit a lot of the main page and try to bring the very contraticting lore of the various edition together. Since i will do this random (and most likely unorganized) in my free time you will probably see a lot of loose ends and unfinished pages for a time.If you have some good suggestions or critics i am always open for it.
Btw thx for cleaning up behind (i hope i am slowly getting it)
I really enjoy of the franchise for a long time, I was just wondering about something, I know you only take questions for the series itself but I would like to make an invitation to my crossover wikia called Universal Conquest wikia. where armies from different verses battle each other, we could use your support and info for expanding the site.
i am translating Quinsberry Lodge, from the RPG Book "Shades of Empire", and I can not fully understand this expression
"Meanwhile, all their relatives became scribes, runners, advisors, and attendants, flooding the oil of the wheels of bureaucracy with Halfling blood—so that they could, when necessary, run that oil cold."
From Career Compendium, fromthe Horse Coper Career
"Of course this horse is healthy, Sir. Weeping sores? I don’t see any… oh that; those are just flea bites; those will heal quickly. You obviously know horses; I’ll throw in a fresh saddle blanket and saddlebags for this fine animal if you’ll buy him now. I’ve an urgent appointment in another town…."
I do not understand the expression very well "I’ll throw in a fresh", but for the context, the horse coper says that, if you buy the horse, you will get a Saddle blanket and saddlebags for free. No?
I have a question too with the name of this pitwive:
Moll Cut-cod: The youngest of the troupe, city-born Moll is the darling of the common folk. Loud, pushy, and fast with her fists, she is said to be collecting money to free her brother from the worst depths of the Altdorf jails. That could of course be a lie, spread to ensure a steady flow of Karls on stage. They say her name stems from the fate of the last man to try and push his affections on her.
Perhaps literal? Like, they pass spears to each other in a choreographed display of solidarity? Training? Or maybe it's akin to the "changing of the guard", where they welcome the new and retire the old.
I think it must refer to the changing of the guard during vigilance turns, yes. Also, reading the Cut-cod paragraph, we should also take into account that 'cod-piece' is the armour plate that covers the groin...*evil grin*
"Per pale, sable and or, two scorpions tergant, counterchanged...that’s registered to one of the great merchant houses of Remas. Odd that one of their mercenaries would be so far to the north. Hm. For all we know, he stole that shield in a raid, but if he didn’t...well. This could get interesting."
I can not understand the part of the text that is in bold
I think it's describing the House's coat of arms. But the use of "per" is odd to me. That's usually used when you wanna equate something. Like, "you get five ducks per fox pelt you give me". Here though, it seems... confusing.
counterchanged is more heraldry terminology for having the tinctures exchanged mutually. As in: if the field is divided palewise, or and azure, and cross borne counterchanged, that part of the cross which comes on the azure side will be or, and that on the or side will be azure.
The best translation to Spanish, given that heraldic vocabulary isn't the same, could be:
"Partido de sable y oro a los dos escorpiones del uno en el otro... Eso está registrado por una de las grandes casas mercantiles de Remas. Qué raro ver a uno de sus mercenarios tan al norte. Hm. Por lo que sabemos, podría haber robado ese escudo en una incursión, pero si no es el caso... Bueno, esto podría ponerse interesante."
Hey MrParaduo, I just want to say that I really appreciate your help around the wiki. I don't think I would've been able to write down all those pages by myself. I don't typically like to ask for help, mostly because I don't want to push too much responsibilities on this wiki's contributors, but I was wondering if perhaps your okay with helping me finish up all the units from Monstrous Arcanum?
I feel confident that I already written 3/4th of all the units in the book, but ever since the release of Norsca DLC, I've been pressured to finish up all the pages just incase they may use them for later DLC>.
Of course this is entirely voluntairy, I don't want to push this with you. I simply need someone to finish creating the Fimir Warrior, Khemric Titan, Shard Dragon, and Warpfire Dragon pages whilst I go and finish up Tamurkahn page. The rest of the remaining monsters aren't top priorty, but if you feel liek your up to the task, your free to do so.
